Canvas bags

Sails that have been used on the Baltic Sea for years are transformed into bags by us. Not as a nice recycling idea, but because sailcloth can do exactly what a good bag needs: It's light, tear-resistant, and withstands wind and rain – that's what it was built for.

Every piece is sewn by hand in our small manufactory on the Kiel Fjord. Because every sail is cut differently, bleached differently by the sun, and subjected to different stresses, every bag is also unique. Seam lines, stitched-on numbers, color edges, small signs of wear – these are not flaws, they are the material's origin. We don't have two identical pieces.

Our bags made from recycled sailcloth:

Care: Sailcloth is uncomplicated. Stains can be removed with lukewarm water and a little bar soap, then air dry. Do not put in the washing machine or dryer – this will dissolve the coating that makes the fabric water-repellent.
